Department of Interior Architecture Promotional Film

With the increase in the standard of living, users’ expectations regarding the quality of spaces are also rising, which creates a demand for qualified interior architects who are well-equipped in both technical and aesthetic aspects to meet these needs. Interior architecture is concerned with the design of buildings and defined spaces that shape the close environment of human life. In this context, the Department of Interior Architecture at Çankaya University provides the necessary knowledge through theoretical courses, while studio work supports the development of creativity—the main factor of the design process. The curriculum is structured to ensure that graduates can participate harmoniously in interdisciplinary professional environments without difficulty and collaborate with other disciplines such as architects, engineers, and landscape architects.

The primary aim of the Interior Architecture program is to help students develop their creative identity while also gaining theoretical knowledge related to building science. Within the program, students are encouraged to be creative, technically competent, and sensitive to the socio-physical environments of users. The education program encompasses both technical and theoretical aspects through didactic and studio courses. Students of the Department of Interior Architecture may also pursue a double major/minor program in the Department of Architecture or a minor program in the Department of City and Regional Planning, thus earning an additional professional degree during their undergraduate education. The curriculum includes two summer internships, providing students with the opportunity to experience real-life practices carried out on construction sites and in professional architectural offices.
